Penny Farthing CLASSIC 252 Penny Farthing Classic Harrington Jacket

This design is like the prototype of a jumper that goes by various names, including the "Harrington Jacket" in the UK, the "Swing Top" named by VAN's Ishizu Kensuke in Japan, the "Barracuda" from the UK, which is also said to have created this shape, and McGregor's "Drizzler" in the US.

The classic design makes it easy to match with any outfit, and the material is neither too thick nor too thin, so it's sure to come in handy when you need something to throw on outside of summer and the dead of winter.

The collar is a traditional "dog-ear" style that resembles a dog's drooping ears. When the buttons are fastened, the collar stands up, preventing wind from entering around the neck.
The side pockets have buttoned rain covers, and the cuffs and hem are ribbed to prevent wind from entering.
The inside is decorated with the vibrant Royal Stewart tartan check made from 100% cotton, and the inside of the sleeves are lined with polyester for improved slip resistance, wind resistance, and durability.
There is one inner pocket without buttons on the left chest side.
The sleeves are set-in, not raglan.

The outer material is the most basic of workwear materials, T/C twill (65% polyester, 35% cotton).
This material has a moderate luster, firmness, and high durability.

The manufacturer of the original "penny-farthing" bicycle, which had an extremely large front wheel known in Japan as a "Daruma-type bicycle" and had a design that rotated the front wheel directly without a chain or shaft, was a factory in West Yorkshire in northern England, where the textile industry, particularly wool weaving, was thriving.

The sewing process is carried out by small, traditional home-based factories located in local homes.
Originally a workwear brand rather than a fashion brand, the designs have a loose silhouette, and as it is produced in a family-run factory, there is some variation in the stitching, but the durability is impeccable, and in this era of global inflation and a weak yen, it is an authentic British product at an unbelievable price.

*About the size: It's quite loose and large. I think it depends on the individual, but I felt that it was about one size larger than Japanese sizes, and that the width in each place was about two sizes larger than the general size in Japan.

Costs for Exchange/Return

Cases We Cannot Determine as Defective

Items that our store or the manufacturer determines are unavoidable due to the manufacturing process, production method, or material characteristics (e.g., minor scratches, dents, or color variations on products using natural leather) may not be accepted.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but if you send us photos taken with a digital camera in advance, we can make a preliminary judgment at that time.

Important Notes

• All shoes sold in our store are laced and inspected upon arrival before shipping. There are no products that are not laced.
• We take great care to reproduce colors accurately, but they may vary depending on the monitor or environment you are viewing them on. We ask for your understanding regarding subtle color differences.
• Since shoes are manufactured by hand, minute splashes of adhesive cannot be avoided in the manufacturing process. Given the nature of footwear that comes into direct contact with the ground outdoors, please understand that minor adhesions are acceptable.
• In the case of products using natural leather, they are processed from natural materials that were once living creatures, and individual differences in fine wrinkles, color, texture, gloss, etc., or subtle differences between parts cannot be prevented. Please understand this as well.

We accept exchanges within 1 week of product arrival, limited to unused items (excluding defective products) except for trying on in a clean indoor environment.

In principle, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for products more than 1 week after arrival.

Our Definition of Unused Products

Products that have been tried on or tried on after arrival, taking care not to wrinkle them indoors.

For Shoes:

• For lace-up shoes, first loosen the laces, put them on using a shoehorn, tighten the laces, and then stand still for a while to check if there are any pressure points.
• After that, walk a few steps slowly to check if the heel lifts.

For Clothing:

Packaging

We use reusable boxes of various sizes depending on the product and contents.

We strive to minimize packaging waste (cushioning materials) when shipping.

To ensure you can immediately identify your items upon opening, we always lace shoes, fold the edge of packing tape for easy removal, pay attention to packaging orientation, and work daily with care to ensure you receive your items as pleasantly as possible.
