Made in Japan Color: Cigar Brown
IDEA SMOKING CALF IDEA SMOKING CALF
The upper part of the IDEA series, negroni's signature model, is made using "Tuscany Smoking Calfskin", developed by a leather tanner in Tuscany, Italy, famous for producing high-quality leather products since ancient times.
Buffalo calf leather is tanned, painted, and then coated with white wax to create a beautiful, uneven, hazy look that gives the leather a soft, textured appearance with the rough, uneven grain and wrinkles that are characteristic of buffalo leather.
The toe, heel tongue, and around the stitching are buffed (polished) to bring out the leather color and luster hidden beneath the white wax, creating a beautiful gradation.
The calm color is not only suitable for driving scenes, but also goes well with jacket styles, and the tasteful upper allows you to enjoy the development of the leather flavor with each wear.
Since these shoes are hand-finished, the leather will look different for each pair. Please understand that each pair will look different from the images.
To care for the product, wipe with a dry, clean cloth and occasionally apply a thin layer of a colorless emulsion cream such as Delicate Cream.
Please be careful when using creams with strong wax ingredients, wax or stain removers, or continuous strong friction, as these will remove the white wax and significantly change the color and texture.
The shoelaces are waxed round laces.
The following is an explanation common to the IDEA series.
"Negroni" brings together the best of technology to achieve a slim, elegant form and the ultimate comfort.
The design is made to look slim, but when you put your feet in they don't feel too tight at all.
The flowing design is reminiscent of a sports car, and the three-dimensional raised "n" mark and color-coordinated stitching give the overall look a finishing touch.
Although the overall look is sporty, it also has an underlying elegance and goes well with more formal outfits such as a jacket style.
The soles, made by Italian company Gomus, have a rolled-up heel which helps to prevent damage to the shoes when operating the pedals and ensures smooth movement.
In addition to being great driving shoes, they also have a highly cushioned sole and are durable and functional, making them perfectly suitable as a slightly luxurious walking shoe.
The entire inside is lined with cushioning material, so you'll be pleasantly surprised by the soft, enveloping feeling you get when you put your feet in.
In addition, the insoles exclusively for IDEA are made of a material that has been treated with anti-static function called "Caroc Stuffer", photocatalyst (a material with the added function of active titanium oxide that undergoes a photocatalytic reaction when exposed to ultraviolet or fluorescent light, breaking down organic matter such as the source of attached odors, thereby providing antibacterial and deodorizing effects) and Orderless (decomposes ammonia and fatty acids, suppresses their generation, and has antibacterial, deodorizing, and anti-fungal effects). The back of the shoes combines a high-resilience material in the toe area and a low-resilience shock-absorbing material in the heel area, making it a product that brings together the best of technology to ensure that you can always get a comfortable fit.
The entire lining is made from the same material as the insole, and is designed to provide even greater effectiveness.
* Because natural leather is used, there may be small scratches or uneven coloring, but please understand that this is due to the characteristics of the material.
*Size guidelines are listed at the bottom of this page.
★Here's what's great about Negroni!
◆ The upper is made of original kip leather (calf leather about one year old) with an average thickness of 1.6 mm (excluding some models).
If you have a ruler or tape measure nearby, check the thickness of "1.6mm" and you'll see that it's quite thick.
Generally, the thicker the leather, the stiffer it feels, but Negroni Leather is custom tanned and does not feel stiff at all. Its beautiful natural grain (bumps) on the surface and its soft texture that clings to your fingers will surely satisfy your sense of satisfaction with owning it.
◆ Not just for driving! These shoes are also great for walking.
As Negroni shoes are favored by professional racing drivers, they have a strong image as driving shoes, so much so that they are synonymous with "driving shoes." However, they are also "shoes for vigorously walking," with sufficient cushioning, a wooden last that does not constrict the toes, and good rebound (flexible flexibility, bending and returning).
The reason for this lies in the construction of the shoe.
It has an amazing 8-layer structure, counting from the sole to the upper.
A typical leather sneaker probably has around four layers, maybe six at most, so I think you can see how extraordinarily detailed these are.
Let me introduce them starting from the sole.
① Rubber sole made by Gomus, Italy (excluding some models)
② Fiber sheet (paper compression material is used from the arch to the heel to ensure rigidity). The shank (backbone) is attached here.
3) Leather board (leather powder solidified with rubber; the secret to its good flexibility)
④ Three-dimensional truss mesh (creates an air layer and flow at the toes, preventing stuffiness in summer and keeping you warm in winter)
⑤ Molding latex (arch cushion that provides surface support for the arch of the foot)
⑥ Lining (photoelectron fiber mesh, etc.)
⑦ Brushed urethane (cushion foam is included throughout the inside to make the shoe softer on the feet)
⑧ Upper leather (Negroni leather)
The moment you put them on, you feel as if your feet are wrapped in a second, strong, thick skin, yet they provide a comfortable, secure fit.
It also incorporates technology and ingenuity to ensure that thickness does not equal hotness.
◆ Sophisticated design that fits in well not only on holidays but also in business situations
Basically, it is a casual sneaker type, but the design sense reminiscent of a beautiful Italian cocktail, which is also the origin of the name, gives it an underlying elegant atmosphere, and it looks natural, or rather, perfectly suited, even with a slightly more formal outfit such as a jacket style.
It is sure to come in handy not only for everyday use, but also for business trips, going out, traveling, and many other occasions.
◆ We use wooden lasts that are perfectly tailored to the shape of Japanese feet.
Recently, the shapes of Japanese feet are becoming more Westernized, and the number of people with narrow, thin feet is increasing, but the average values are still quite different between Western and Japanese feet.
When wearing slim, smartly designed sneakers, many people choose a size that is larger than the actual size of their feet, but Negroni is different. We thoroughly studied the average Japanese foot shape (as you can imagine from the structure above), and created a unique wooden last that is stress-free and looks neat.
Therefore , if you choose the same size as the sneakers you normally wear, they will most likely be too big.
◎ Best size guide
* On a piece of white paper, draw a "T" shape with a vertical and horizontal line intersecting at right angles.
* Place the paper on a hard floor along the wall, folding the horizontal part of the "T" and placing it so that the horizontal part is horizontally aligned with the wall.
* Please stand on the paper with the socks you will be using on it, with your body relaxed and straight.
* Place the deepest part of your heel on the wall of the "T" shape.
* Stand with the tip of your foot (thumb, index finger, or middle finger) in the center of the line that extends into the "T".
* Draw a horizontal line on the tip of the toe with a pencil or pen.
* Using a ruler or something similar, measure the straight-line distance from the intersection of the "T" (the folded part) to that mark.
*That number is your "foot length".
In the case of a Negroni, it is almost certain that the length of your foot is approximately equal to the size of the Negroni.
In reality, it depends on the width of your foot, the height of your instep, the shape of your toes, and your preferences, so it is just a guide.
Foot length: Negroni (IDEA) size
26.7cm or more but less than 27.2cm: 27.0cm
26.2 cm or more but less than 26.7 cm: 26.5 cm
25.7cm or more but less than 26.2cm: 26.0cm
25.2 cm or more but less than 25.7 cm: 25.5 cm
24.7cm or more but less than 25.2cm: 25.0cm
24.2 cm or more but less than 24.7 cm: 24.5 cm
23.7cm or more but less than 24.2cm: 24.0cm
If you choose this size, it will probably fit you. There is no need to calculate the extra space.
◆Even though they are sneakers, they are not disposable!
Generally speaking, unlike Goodyear welted dress shoes, sneakers are not made with the assumption that the soles will be replaced, so once the soles wear down, they are difficult to repair and can no longer be worn.
But Negroni is different. We offer sole repair.
It does take time (depending on the factory's conditions) and actual cost to go through the process of removing the soles and re-soling them, but I think it is very eco-friendly and a valuable experience to be able to restore shoes that have become comfortable to your feet.
When we first started doing business with them, the previous president told us, "We will take full responsibility for anything we produce right through to the end," and this really touched my heart.
◆ Regarding sole replacement [To reduce the cost to customers, we have changed to accepting sole replacement directly from the manufacturer.]
If the upper leather is not torn, the sole can be replaced at least once. We only accept full sole replacement.
Repairs will take approximately one month. We will also replace the soles of our original products at the manufacturer.
