They are made using a special method called polybelt manufacturing, which does not use an insole.
This is a manufacturing method in which the upper (upper leather) and outsole are sewn directly together, and a wavy space is created between the outsole and insole, which contributes to improved cushioning and breathability.
In addition, the ball joint (the part of the foot that bends at the base of the big toe) is highly flexible, which allows the shoe to bounce back easily (it bends flexibly without stress, and the force that causes a bent object to return to its original shape), resulting in a light and rhythmic gait and making it less tiring to walk for long periods of time.
The insole is about 1cm thick and has sufficient cushioning, and can be removed and washed.

ST.Relax has thoroughly researched the average foot shape of Japanese people and developed a unique oblique (trapezoid) last (wooden mold) with a bulge in the big toe area.
This allows your fingertips to remain in a natural position, making it stress-free and less tiring to walk for long periods of time, and the unique design gives a feeling of gentleness with its rounded edges.
◎ Guide to the best size <br>Trace the shape of your foot on a white piece of paper with a pen and measure the longest part.
You can be sure that the length is approximately the size of ST.Relax.
There is no need to calculate the waste amount.
◎ Even though they are sneakers, they are not disposable.
Generally speaking, sneakers are not made with the assumption that the soles will be replaced, unlike Goodyear welted dress shoes, so once the soles wear out, they are difficult to repair and can no longer be worn.
However, ST.Relax can repair soles and frayed shoes.
It takes time (depending on the factory's conditions) and costs (approximately 10,000 yen, depending on the condition) to go through the process of removing the soles and reattaching new ones, but I think it's very eco-friendly and valuable to be able to restore shoes that have become comfortable to your feet.
"ST.Relax" was founded in 1941 by Miyagi Kogyo Co., Ltd. in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture, and all production, from design to sewing, is carried out in an integrated manner. (It seems that the name "Miyagi" comes from the fact that the company was originally based in Sendai.)
Miyagi Kogyo Co., Ltd. is skilled in various shoe manufacturing methods and produces 100,000 pairs of shoes per year, in addition to its own brand and pattern-making, and also handles OEM production.
